Kevin Spacey hasn't made the U.S. his regular home for a while -- he's based in London, where since 2003 he's been the artistic director of the Old Vic theater.?But he's been making regular jaunts Stateside to appear in a David Fincher-directed Netflix series, "House of Cards," about a scheming politician who'll stop at nothing in his rise to power.?
"Oddly enough, it was based on 'Richard III,' which I spent the last 10 months of last year performing around the world,"?revealed Spacey, speaking to TODAY's Matt Lauer in London. "So I feel like I've had a good 10 months of rehearsal to play this character."
"House of Cards" is produced by Media Rights Capital and will premiere in 2013, with Spacey, and he's relishing his role. "It's been an extraordinary experience to sort of delve into that world of politics, and power, and greed and ambition and all that," he says. "As David and I like to say, it ain't your daddy's 'West Wing.'"
